So on and off for about 15 months I have worked on this custom hamonica case for a gentleman named Robert Hoffman. He pretty much owns the world’s largest harmonica case collection, and most, if not all are handmade cases. Here’s a few articles on his collection
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/15/bob-hoff-hoffmans-handcran1082469.html
This harmonica case is made of bloodwood, ebony, purpleheart, maple, yellowheart and blue pine. there are brass hinges and brass hangers used (he likes to wear these as neck pieces). I made a little velvet lined pocket inside of the harmonica box made of velvet and pillow stuffing.
the brick is hand chiseled and filled in with maple dust and glue to make it look like brick grout. The mini dovetails are done on a table router.
Everything else hand cut on a scrollsaw, and shaped with my dremel tool.

Awesome box! I expect that even if he has the largest harmonica case collection – this will be his favorite!
