I made this coffee table with a wide slab I had sawn from some trees I cut last fall. Its about 20” wide, rare for a lodgepole in Colorado. I usually glue 2 slabs to make a top this wide, so having a 1 piece top is unique. The legs are 4×4 turned with 1.75×3.5 frame. The table stands 20” tall and 4’ long. Finish is Watco danish oil followed by 3 coats of Deft brushing laquer semi-gloss. Joinery is pocket hole.

Just like the look. Ours is Ponderosa pine 20-24 inch trunks are common. Of course packing them out is the problem. Once again it’s just a very clean pleasing look.

i always love a natural slab table, and this beetle kill pine is really very nice wood, im glad to see you doing this with it, as many would and are just letting it rot, and your building and making something out of it, letting it show off its beauty, to me, god created all of this, and were just using our god given talents to show its beauty, and share that with others, thanks…grizz

I really like the massive look of this table and I’m getting to like the look of that beetle kill pine more with every project you post.
