Here’s a 3 Tier Dessert Stand or Tray that I made a couple of months ago for my daughter’s Portfolio review for her Pastry Program at a Culinary School. This was where they set up a table of their creations at the ballroom at the convention center. There is a table judging and prospective employers are invited to come. Sort of their final project.

I had just bought my Delta 12” VS Lathe and she asked if I’d make her a stand for her chocolate truffles. Nothing like a deadline to get you motivated!

Wood is Walnut and Hard Maple with a poly finish. Trying to create the sphere was nerve-wracking for me as this was really my second project I’ve done on a lathe. Everything is bolted together with a threaded rod with a nut epoxied in the top stem and is easily taken apart.

Thanks for looking.

I absolutely love it. I love your aesthetic. It’s very minimalist and chic.

I’m building one of these rigt now! I’ll use the threaded rod in the center idea so my wife can take it apart for storage. Thanks bfergie!
