This was something I made quick to hold coupons and ads that were otherwise just sitting on the counter in my kitchen/dining room. These dovetails are attempts 9, 10, 11, and 12 for me, and I’m happy with some of them (first/second picture I was quite happy with) The others are ok, with a few gaps, but that’s part of learning, I guess :-)

The sides are 1/2” Red Oak, and the bottom is 1/8” Birch hobby plywood. Finished with Minwax Polycrilic Gloss

Good job!! Keep after it. They (dovetail joints) will get better each time.

Thanks Jack, I’m hoping they do. I actually think they were easier to make in the 1/2” oak than the 3/4” poplar…

Thanks Jim, it’s quite useful :-)

This is a nice tray and the dovetails look very nice.
