I’ll admit that this project has me beat. Too many things i’ve never done before, too little time or materials.

This is my last college piece, finished yesterday, hung on the wall today just in time for the end of year show on Monday.

First off; the doors. These were based on this guy

They’re made from maple and deckchair canvas with slats on both sides of the canvas and are held closed by magnets set into the slats.

Top and bottom are Cherry, oval shaped and sightly domed. Sides of the cabinet are coopered maple (if you fancy a real headache try coopering an oval)

There’s only one drawer, the second broke beyond repair while trying to glue up. The draw works on a central drawer runner. Draw and door pulls are leather.

The cabinet is attached to the wall with screws that are hidden behind the curved panel at the top.

I’ve never seen doors quite like that. Very cool!
