This box is for Walt, my good friend for over 40 years, and I am only 49. He is turning 80 this year so I tried to make a box he would like.

Made of walnut, the top crotch part was something I have had for several years and was waiting for the rght project for the piece. I had to stain all other pieces to match in color, and several coats of poly.

Now that I have the pictures I noticed how much dust was on the box. So back to the shop for an overall detail cleaning and polish. Much better, now. So off to Walt it went. Of course I forgot to take pictures after the cleaning and polishing. Duh!

I like the wood you featured on the top. It has a beautiful grain. Nice, thoughtful gift.
