Well, my sister moved out, and she was using one of those little dinky white plastic cutting boards, so it was time to make her a semi-decent one. I went down to Austins in Santa Ana and picked up some 4/4 Purpleheart and maple and made this. Also made my own cutting board oil by mixing mineral oil and melting 25% wax into it. Turned out pretty good, and much cheaper than the stuff you buy at the store. Anyways, thanks for looking!

Beautiful board. Great job. Those 2 woods really compliment each other well.

Love Purpleheart. One of my favorite woods. The contrast with the maple is great.

One of my other favorite woods is Yellowheart. Mixed with the purpleheart makes another nice contrast.

It’s so beautiful that I wouldn’t like to use it as a cutting board.

I really like it. There are so many cutting board designs out there, but I haven’t seen one like this. Simplistic, but I think that’s what I like about it.
