Mommies idea of a Morris Chair. She did the uphostery.
This is the first time I’ve used my HF HVLP worked good.
Finish is MinWax Chestnut stain and Sherwin Williams water based poly. First time using the water based stuff(sprayed) and I like it too. And it’s easy to clean up.

A Wonderful Morris Chair!
COOL!
I’ve been wanting to make one of those for years! ... have to find a place to “put” it! LOL
Great job! Building & Upholstery too!
Where did you get your foam rubber & what kind did you get?
Thank you.

A custom made chair – lucky lady! What is underneath the seat? – maybe I am looking too hard, but it is driving me crazy.

Is this also a swivel rocker? Fantastic. I thought a typical Morris chair was stationary. Great chair!!!

@Joe, foam came from the internet. Mommie found a good deal there.Cheaper than buying local. Good foam is pricey. It’s high density upholstery foam.
@Kookaburra..wooden frame under the seat. Slatted like the sides.
@grace123, yes this is a swivel rocker. That’s what she wanted, like I said her idea of a Morris(see my projects I have a stationary one).
This chair (and mine) are upholstered different than a real Morris that is typical leather. We wanted something different that not everyone else had.
These two chairs are replacing a well known brand of recliners that are less than two years old. We bought them new based on past experience with that brand. Let’s just say the quality that used to be there ,wasn’t, so I decided to build my own.
Thanks for the comments.
