After being in and out of hospitals for a month my Mom passed away last week. As I had time I welcomed this project, making 15 biplane ” kits ” for VBS. I always enjoy making things and this project was just what I needed. As shown in the last pic the kids have some assembly to do after painting. The fuselage is 1.5”x1.5 ” spruce, the wings, horizonal and vertical stabilizers and props are 1/4” luann plywood. The wheels and axles are from Hobby Lobby
I ‘d like to thank lj roster for his post which provided ideas for this project.
Thanks for looking,

Sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. I lost my mom last September so I know where you are at right now. I’m glad that you could find an outlet and something to occupy your time.

Best wishes,

So sorry about your mother. I too am an ‘orphan’ now so I feel your hurt. The planes for the kids was definately good therapy and you will enjoy watching them assemble/play with them. Keep your chin up.

Good job on these. My mom has been gone for 7 years now and I “hear” her everyday.

Hang in there and keep on doing what your doing. You do good!

Bowtie I am really sorry for your loss. I lost my mother at the age of 94 a couple years ago…so many things that happen in our lives that remind us of our parents. I was thinking today I am not the oldest one in our family. She will be waiting for you to join her one day

I really like the planes you made…is that your design?

So sorry about your mom. Projects keep our minds off of the sadness sometimes. Nice planes. They will make someone’s day.

I CHALLENGE YOU SIR….. WE shall paint your planes in the colours of the AXIS… and MINE in the colour of the ALLIES…. we shall commence to throwing said planes at each other making various NOISES… (bombing, shooting, teetering and lifting with squalling and the occasional “MAYDAY MAYDAY … I’M HIT!”). At the end of 30 minutes I shall let you pelt me with rocks from no closer than 99 meters while we discuss terms of your unconditional surrender!

Condolensces on the loss of your mom. You certainly invested yourself in a very worthwhile project. My first woodworking projects were VBS craft projects. I still remember the great sense of pride and satisfaction I got from those projects. This project will do the same for these kids. Best wishes and thanks for sharing.

Our condolences to you. Very nice project for those lucky VBS kids. They will love and adore them for a long time to come. Forsake not the little children.

Hey, great planes! The credit needs to go to the guy I stole the idea from…

Great job, I’m sure your mom is smiling proudly from above!
