Planter Box from WWMM

As soon as I saw the planter box Steve made on WWMM, I knew I had to make one myself.

Finally got around to it this weekend. 2×4’s 2×3’s and some bender boards, the whole thing cost $30. The little top pieces for the corners (what are those things called?) I made on the table-saw from the left-overs of the 2×4’s.

My kids really like red and yellow bell-peppers, and a few weeks ago the oldest grabbed some seeds as I was cutting some up and planted them in a tray of dirt. They sprouted and are now the first tenants of the planter box.

Nice planter! I could use something like this on a bit longer scale!
Thanks for sharing.
Well done.

Now that is how I should have done my planter. Thanks for the ideas.

Enoelf, I stretched the 2×3’s out to 4ft, and was surprised at how solid it still was.

You could probably go to 6ft, but beyond that you’d probably want some sort of cross brace in the middle. I was originally planning to do that on mine, but quickly realized there was no need.

Have your say...
