I thought I’d share one of my old projects made back in the late 1960’s. It was done in one of my shop classes for a project. Back then Playboy Bunnies were cute.

These looked better back then when the brass inlays were bright and shiny. They tarnished even with a coat of spray lacquer.

I also “jeweled” the part of the bookends that went under the books. Since this was such a small area, I think I used a pencil eraser chucked in a drill press. A regular pencil will make 1/4 inch swirls and the fatter pencils that younger kids use would make 1/2 inch swirls.

Felt is glued on the bottoms.

Hope you enjoyed looking at these. Comments welcomed.

Thanks for looking.

Alex, Playboy bunnies are still cute… I’m thinking that the 50 years that have gone by have altered your vision, but not mine, so I can say that your bookends are also cute… You did remind me of an old fraternity brother (of course, by now, they’re all old), who (in 1965) had his room in the fraternity house “papered” with centerfolds…

Have your say...
