This was my first attempt at making a pinstripped cutting board. All in all, i was pretty happy with it, but there are some things that i will do differently next time. One thing that is notable on this project is that the maple strips (1/8”) are actually end grain as well. Making sure that they were perfectly aligned in the final glue up was a bit of a challenge but didnt turn out too bad.
Thanks for viewing.

That is really beautiful. You did a great job for your first board.

I love it ! Most cutting boards are lighter colored boards; this one stands out beautifully

You nailed it with aligning the end grain pieces. That is the fun of making end grain CB’s. I love the maple ends. How did you attach the maple ends?

Thank you to everyone for your comments. @amagineer, the maple ends are doweled and glued. The dowels really were not necessary, but we are woodworking geeks right? I really enjoy working with walnut, and the finish is gorgeous. I typically do not do multiple boards that are the same, but i am thinking about doing another one with a different accent wood. Perhaps Ebony, or Purple Heart. Not sure.
