This is my own custom design of a Aromatic Red Cedar Jewelry Box. I don’t care to much for miter joints so i was wanting something a little different. This is all butt joints. I used 1×1 post for the corners and used butt joints for the rest.

This got a lot of attention and everyone said it look great. Hope you think the same. I gave this one away in a contest for people that visited my web site.

Nice Box, Cool design with nice proportions, good change of pace on construction, are those small dowels in the corner posts?, Great job, thanks for sharing

Thanks Itsmic for the nice comments. No those aren’t dowels. Those are the brad nails that I use along with glue. I find it easy to use those brads and not have to worry to much about things moving on me.

what a box should look like
or how it is built

each one has it’s own needs
and lessons

this one looks good to me
