UN AMIGO ME NOTIFICÓ POR FACEBOOK QUE TENÍA UNA HERRAMIENTA, QUE HABÍA PERTENECIDO A SU BIS-ABUELO, PARA REGALARME: UN DÍA LLUVIOSO FUÍ A BUSCARLA, SABIENDO QUE SEGURAMENTE ESTABA DETERIORADA ;-)
ES UN PLANO DE LA MARCA PEUGEOT, HERRAMIENTA FRANCESA QUE SEGURAMENTE LLEGÓ A LA ARGENTINA EN UN BUQUE DE VAPOR ;-)
ME ASOMBRÓ QUE EL FILO MEDÍA 4,5 CENTÍMETROS Y NO 5 CMS. COMO TODOS LOS QUE YO HABÍA VISTO EN USO: AL PRINCIPIO PENSÉ EN CORTARLO PORQUE TENÍA RAJADURAS EN LOS COSTADOS PERO ME ACOBARDÉ Y DECIDÍ UN PROCESO ALTERNATIVO QUE CONSISTIÓ EN LIJAR LOS LATERALES LO MÁS POSIBLE, PERO SIN QUE EL PLANO SE DESARMARA: LUEGO LE ENCOLÉ UN NUEVO GABINETE CON MADERA BLANDA YA QUE EL PLANO DEBE SER DE VIRÁ-PITÁ Ó LAPACHO NEGRO (MADERAS DURAS), Y LE PUSE UNOS TRONILLOS ;-)
QUEDÓ LISTO PARA UNA NUEVA VIDA Y FUNCIONA DE MARAVILLA ;-)
ESPERO QUE LES GUSTE COLEGAS ;-)))))))))

Interesting work Kova! I would suggest softening the back top corners though as they may wear into your hand. But that is just a personal preference thing. I love the feel of a good hand plane!!

Your Friend,

Nate

I have never seen a restore like that before.
Personally I think I would have hade a new body and used the Iron (it is French).
But it sure got personality now.
Best thoughts,
Mads

Direct translate of your text in Google:
REPORTED BY A FRIEND FACEBOOK ME THAT I HAD A TOOL THAT had belonged to his great-grandfather, to give me: A RAINY DAY I went to look, KNOWING THAT WAS PROBABLY DAMAGED;-) MAP IS A TRADEMARK PEUGEOT, TOOL THAT SURELY FRENCH REACHED THE ARGENTINA IN A STEAM SHIP;-) I was amazed that EDGE MEDIA 4.5 INCHES AND NO 5 CMS. AS ALL THAT I HAD SEEN IN USE: At first I HAD CRACKS IN BECAUSE cut SIDES AND DECIDED BUT I chickened out an alternative process that consisted of SAND THE SIDE AS POSSIBLE, BUT NOT LEVEL disarm: THEN YOU Glue A NEW CABINET WITH SOFT WOOD BECAUSE THE PLAN MUST BE LAPACHO Vira-pita or BLACK (hardwood), AND I WILL PUT SOME TRONILLOS;-) WAS READY FOR A NEW LIFE AND WORKS GREAT;-) Hope you like COLLEAGUES;-)))))))))

That’s an interesting way to repair a plane. It’s good to take what once was a useless tool and bring it back to life.

Tú me has animado.
