This bird was carve with palm tools and rasps.

The wood came from an assortment pack of pen blanks. Anyone who knows what it is should let me know.

Approximate Size: 1.25” high on the base, 2.75” long (beak to tail), 2” (wing tip to wingtip)

Looks like wenge to me. From Africa I believe. It’s a tough and splintery wood.

Actually, I believe this is black Palm, the grain isnt quite like the Wenge I have encountered
