1st box. Bought a assorted box of wood from Rockler. Its made of cherry with walnut accents and lid. Very simple design and construction which helps confidence

Well done! That’s how I got started…. wood assortment from Rockler… plus we have a woodworking club that does workshops. We made a similar “candle” box in one of the workshops… great enjoyment. So check around, might also be an organization near you that could prove helpful.

Nice first box!. For future projects look around for free wood. People discard many items made from some pretty nice wood. You can salvage the wood and build nice projects as this one at no cost for material
