Wood flower arrangement for a recuperating friend No-picture-s No-picture-s Click the pictures to enlarge them

A good friend of mine went to the hospital yesterday for an operation and a nights stay. The operation went well and she is home now. In my school district spring break is now. She will be recuperating during this time. As a LJ I thought that a simple arrangement would be nice and they won’t die from over watering. Made out of pine and painted with acrylic paints these patterns were very popular in my woodworking class. The base is a leftover 4×6 I had, just sanded it a little and sprayed some semi-gloss Deft spray and that’s about it.

that reminds me of all those wooden flowers my dad used to make when I was a kid. he used to sell them at a small craft shop to help make ends meet. he made them for outside and would use the outside coating from a lawnmower throttle cable for the stem(painted green) so they would sway in the wind. I couldn’t tell you how many his(now mine)dremel scroll saw cut out. My wife has a black thumb so I am planning on making her some.

I’m so glad I joined LJ’s. You guys can make one feel real good about the stuff one makes. I though for sure that these little flowers would seem to trite to post as a project, but you all came through again. Thanks alot.

Bob,

This is a nice project and one that I am sure was well received. This is something that would brighten anyone’s day and your friend needed the support I am sure.

thanks for the post and the story behind it.
