Key Cabinet

First cabinet of any kind. Prior to this project, I couldn’t make mitered corners if my life depended on it. Countless times I’ve ended up with firewood because my corners had gaps and I was embarrassed to put on display – even to my own family.

Then I bought a Kreg 7102 miter gauge. Once set up, my corners were flawless and I had to try my new toy in making a door to accept a scrolled design for a key cabinet. For the cabinet part, I used simple pocket hole joinery, concealed by the decorative top/bottom glued on.

Beautiful cabinet. Great scrolling job. Perfect miters. Love the wood grain.
