Thanks to John (Extreme Birdhouses) for the plans for this wonderful birdhouse. (Thanks John) Rick had an absolute blast building this!!

He used an old pine board we had and some old barn boards when the pine ran out.
The dormers on the front gave him the biggest difficulties and (thanks to JockMike for sending us replacement gauges for our air compressor) the nail gun made putting together the pieces a breeze! (Thanks Mike)

Now… to build a couple more!!! :)

Since you are the financier for this 2008 home project, please don’t repo this one from the birds if they can’t pay. It has that blog cabin look…good job.

That is an extreme birdhouse. Some lucky birds will be living better than some people. Nice work.

how many hours? Hahah he said “one… the rest were planning and thinking” haha
he’s guessing 30 hours total but he wasn’t keeping track.

the dormers took most of the time

Bird HOUSE?!? That’s a LODGE! Very nice. Did you have to pull a permit to build it?

Your causing trouble in the wild kingdom! Your birds are going to laugh at my birds and thier sorry digs as they fly by for the winter.

we just had a discussion last night about how we ensure we get classy birds and not end up with a slum area haha

Hi Ms. Debdie,

The slum birds taking over the bird house should be no problem. Just keep the rent high enough to prevent them from moving in.

Don’t forget to do a credit check on the applicants!

Otherwise, you could end up with some bird brain taking advantage of you.

Great looking project!

Lee

This morning we were sitting out on the deck and my daughter’s cat jumped from a wood pile up onto the roof of one shed and then over to the next and he checked out the birdhouse. The little devil! And I thought that on top of a shed would be safe. Ha.

I guess we’ll be moving the wood pile or the birdhouse.
