A not quite life-like carving of a bird’s skull, using various images as a guide.

Tools used: hatchet, knife, chisel.

Skull is pine, post, is 1/8” hollow square brass dowel, base is brass from door kick plate and mystery wood from a package of Japanese fish-cake of all places.

This was a gift for a former lover who’s a bird-watching enthusiast. So the unofficial title is:

“An ex bird’s head for my head ex bird.”
