Rachel is my cousin Denise’s younger daughter. Olivia is the other daughter. I’ll have to showcase her jewelry box as well. In any case, Rachel’s box is a simple cherry box that I really like. It works in so many ways besides having been relatively simple to make.
The walnut splines are 1/4”. The top slips into a groove in the sides so no hinges are needed. The walnut accents in the top band and feet were stained with ebony stain to achieve that dark look. The top shelf comes out to revel space iin the bottom – that’s where we hid her wedding check.
