These are the bud vases I mention in my “Beyond Punky” blog.
The wood is an unknown species from my firewood pile.
It has been sitting there for 6 years and some pieces are starting to fall apart they are so rotten.
I selected two short pieces, did no cutting of the ends, then turned them on the lathe.
After turning I applies a single application of quick-dry polyurethane, then began a process of soaking the wood in polyeurethane.
The finishing process took about 3 weeks total and tripled the weight of the wood.
