Shelves with hidden support

The wife wanted to hang some shelves, but didn’t want to see the brackets.

Simple, really… routed out the back of it to allow for an L-shaped aluminum bar, drilled a few holes for mounting and bolted 3/8 inch threaded rod to the aluminum to extend the support and Voila.

It is cherry, stained because she likes the dark wood look.

No, I didn’t have anything to do with the fish.

Ryno, those shelves look really good. Can you post pictures of the slot you routed for the L-bracket?

@tool_junkie… I didn’t want to have to take it off the walls, so I posted a few views from the Sketchup drawing I made… first two pics are showing the bracket itself that I made, then a see-through pic of the entire assembly, finally a view from the back showing the routed out area that the bracket fits in.
