Rough Box

I was originally just going for an endgrain look with this box. When I saw how the cants looked with the natural edges, I started thinking more rustic.
The box itself is bad from bodark or osage orange. I had this piece of pecan left over from an earlier attempt.
I still am new at the shop building thing so I am just trying new ideas that come to mind. Am sure hopeful for an incredibly busy summer so I can afford so decent shop tools. For now I will have to make do with what I got.

I like this one a lot. Way to let the wood speak for itself…. and the bugs. LOL.
