Padauk and Texas Ebony. Black velvet on bottom. It was a quickie box made to put money in as a gift for a friend that is leaving the area

I like how you did the corners/legs on this one, will have to try it some day. Nice combination of wood, too. I especially like the ball latch. That’s a nice feature. Looks like it will hold a lot of money for your friend… lucky friend. :)

It’s a tree that grows in S Texas. Center part is dark, sometimes with gold streaks. About the only way I ever find it is in cuts for turning. Bluestingray has it now and then by the pallet load if you have a real thick wallet
