Project Information
Here is a project I just finished for my sister-in-law. She saw a similar one and ask if I can make one. The one she saw used an actual old window for the top. I thought that glass is to thin so I replicated the window using the glass I saved from a CD cabinet I throw away a couple years ago. Tempered glass makes me feel a whole lot better when it will be used to put things on top "IF" the glass ever breaks, I designed it so the grill can be remove to replace the glass.
I used Oak I had laying around to construct the window frame and grill. I used mortised and tendon for the joinery of the window frame and I decided to go with finger joints for the coffee table body. I also used pine for the body and the bottom. The legs I purchased. Another great use for storage when your space is limited.
Thanks for looking!
