This was a block of wood was laying around forever just looking for a chance to show its beauty. Hope my fellow woodworkers agree with its new life.

Very nicely done!

What are you using for a finish on them?

very cool. love the grain. I have been meaning to carve a few large coffee cups for the house and one for my office. Just low down on the carving priority list. Thanks for sharing.

Welcome to the site Dick. I’m new as well.. The wood is figured Maple but I use most hardwoods,Walnut,Cherry, Hickory. I’m a retired builder-carpenter and have saved lots of my supply from cutoffs (firewood for most non woodworkers) Good luck and nice wine holder.
