Bench Progress

Project by mjlauro posted 603 days ago 912 views 1 time favorited 11 comments Add to Favorites Watch

A while back I posted some picture of the base of my workbench. My intentions where to have this completed by April, but as you can see that did not happen. Anyway, I thought I would post a couple of updated pictures so you can all see how far I have gotten. I’m still at least two weeks from completion, but things are starting to move rather quickly. I’m also encouraged because I have not ran into many problems. I guess I’m saving them all for the tail vise. As Always I welcome all questions, comments and solutions. Thanks

Wow, very nice design. Looks very stable and well built. Big commitment of space in a 1 car garage but worth it. This is a very professional looking bench.

April is not over yet so you still have almost a month to go. This is looking pretty good so far.

I bet you can’t wait to gitter-dun! Great progress, don’t hurry if you don’t have to. The joy is in the making.

This is going to be a great bench when completed. Then we’ll be watching for projects coming off of it.

Nice job!!

Do you plan to cut dovetails or fingerjoints? I made my bench, same european design. Frank Klausz, used dovetails on the vises, Tage Frid, fingerjoints. I cut dovetails, and was very hard work, because I used Goncalo Alves wood.
