Hi

thought I’d share an image of a recently completed bandsawn box, called the Jester, it is a lidded box (the lid is retained by magnets).

It was fun to do.

“fun to do” makes it sounds so simplistic. This is beautiful and an example of skill!!!

I wish I could make a box like this.

Tony another one up to your exceptional standards. What’s the wood? Red Cedar?

I get it. I don’t “see” it, but I like it.

As usual, Tony, super NICE COOL projects!

When you say the lid uses magnets… I guess there is a rare earth magnet on both piece so when they come together, it’s a good connection?

I like your cover hand carving too… COOL!

Thank you…

Joe, thank you for your comment.

My preference is to use magnets in both sections to be connected, the alternative is to implant metal ~ for mine I try and minimise the amount of non wood products, allow the wood to speak for itself! (Does that make sense?)

Tony, this is amazing work. The detail is really great.
