This was somewhat of an experiment that I’ve been meaning to try for a while now. I know the usual approach to built-in bench dogs is to simply use through-holes for the dogs and just tap them up from beneath. But here I tried an alternative approach using a cabinet touch-latch mechanism. These are nice because they switch between a shortened and elongated state with each alternate push. The video shows them in action. Let me know what you think!

Great idea! You should submit that to some magazines for some cash….. To buy some more tools LOL! Seriously though submit it.
