I have a client who loves the classic fir grain from old lumber.
He said “the more nail holes , the better”.
I also made two small cutouts with doors for their cell phone chargers and grain matched the doors.
I used plywood to build the base and put a drawer in each side.

That’s absolutely inspiring Niall, great job fulfilling the cilent’s wishes. I’m a beginning woodworker and have been working primarily with reclaimed dougfir myself. Did you do anything to fill the nail holes? They look very natural (can you say that about nail holes?) so I’m thinking theres no filler/epoxy in there.

Also, can you describe the finish and process a little? What you did kept the aged look of the fir and I love that. Details please, and again, an outstanding build!

Wow, usually not a fan of the modern look, but this still has life and inspiration, and practical! Nice work
