We’re setting up for Blondie’s Birthday party in June. We have over 140 guests invited so it will be a big party, too say the least. The caterers and bartenders have been hired. 3 kegs and wine have been ordered. Everyone keeps asking what to get Blondie. She really didn’t want presents and were fortunate not to need money for the sake of gifts. Blondie and Kaina (our Chlt Lab) do charity work at the local schools on Fridays and Senior Citizens homes & libraries on the weekends. Helping kids with social problems and older people that want company.

The program BARK, (Beach Animals Reading with Kids) is becoming more and more well known. It was on the news a month ago and research has found that kids’ reading to dogs helps them leaps and bounds. The dog never laughs at them. So she decided for our guests that insist on bringing something can make a donation to Bark to help the charity.

I used some left over fake grass from our backyard.

Of course she asked me to make a dog house for the cards and this is what I came up with. She had a big smile on her face when she came home from work today and loves it. Kind of a silly project but cute in its own way. After her Birthday it will go to the charity for other events.

Thx for looking. Hope you like it. All comments welcome.

I’ll gladly send Blondie our dog, Quigley, and she can take him down to the beach to help some kids!

Great cause!

That is one inviting doghouse. I applaud you both for helping this cause. I just donated two cutting boards to help raise money to paint a firetruck pink to travel the country to raise awareness for breast cancer. My cousin (a fireman) just loss his wife to breast cancer and has volunteered to drive the firetruck cross country.

Great work Ken! You have a knack for taking what some would expect to be a simple project and making it very special. Happy Birthday Wishes to Blondie!
