So I agreed to build an end-grain board for a friend of a friend…..planned everything out step by step…....made first round of cuts and was so impressed with myself (all joints closed up nice and tight) that I completely forgot to “flip” every other piece to create the pattern. Sat up the next morning in bed with the “holy crap” expression on my face. I then sawed all the glue joints, flipped the correct pieces and re-glued. I like the end result, but the pattern dosen’t match what I had on paper…..gotta get my brain wrapped around that!!! Lastly, finished with 4 coats of mineral oil and added some white rubber feet to the bottom. Woods are cherry and hard maple.
