Walnut Bathroom Vanity

I made the vanity from solid Black walnut (1” thick), joined with chunky dovetails. The internal drawers are rock maple with maple ply bases. The drawers ride on Blum soft close drawer slides and the drawer handle is from Lee Valley. One of my first pieces with Black walnut which I really enjoyed. It has lots of lovely figure. The unit is fixed to the wall with heavy duty screws in to the wall studs.

The wall mirror is also black walnut and it conceals a recessed cupboard fitted in to the stud wall. The cupboard is made from birch ply with walnut veneer on top. Glass shelves and blum hinges finish it off. When the cupboard is closed one wouldn’t guess that there is a cupboard behind there.

Beautiful work on the vanity and the wall mirror/medicine cabinet. I also noticed a nice looking walnut towel shelf. Overall it looks like a pretty nice bathroom reno.

Excellent use of space. I like the two drawers…I am assuming the p trap is between the drawers and the cutout on the back of main drawer also fits around plumbing great idea, design, and execution.

Very nice, very clean looking job, I like everything you’ve done. The drawers are a nice touch. Those chunky dovetails look great.
