This is a mission style bed that I build with pullout drawers. The face frame of the drawers are beaded with the drawers inset. Baltic birch drawer boxes with ball bearing drawer guides. The top cap of both the head board and foot board are made out of two pieces of 3/8” thick solid oak glued together while on a template. This way the top cap will be easier to screw down without having to use plywood and cut slots in the back to give the template the curve while I did not think it was going to be that heavy, but the whole head and foot board are solid oak except the skirt on the bottom of the foot board.

Great job Bladerunner, beaut design. I have just completed the plans for a king size single bed, for my grandaughter, with drawers. Do your drawers form part of the bed or are they detachable.

Bladerunner,
This is a nice bed. I really like the incorporated drawers. This adds storage in space that is not used.
Thanks for the post.

Too bad, Blade …... From the third picture, it looks like she’s moved you out of the house! At least you’ve got a place to sleep and put your stuff!
