For those who read about my first bookcase, jump ahead approx. 18 months. Little #2 was on the way. I held off on building anything until we knew whether it would be a boy or girl – and for us, that meant waiting for “delivery day!”. Number 2 was also a precious little girl so another doll house bookcase was in order (if #2 was a boy, the bookcase was going to be a rocketship – I still might build one just to see what it would look like). Anyways, this is what I built. Bit different from the first bookcase – the trim treatment along the edges of the sides, grooved roof, and this one had dado joinery for the shelves. Simple light yellow painting and that was it.
Thanks for looking.

This is a nice piece. But it is full already. It looks like you need another one in there as well. But it is a losing battle. They will accumulate books, dolls, etc. faster than you can build bookcases to store them in.
Congratulations on waiting until delivery to be surprised. This is becoming a rarity today.
Thanks for the post.
