My first real woodworking project. Done completely with hand tools. Which was a challenge…as you can tell in the gaps of my dovetails. Very simple look. I was incredibly scared about finishing this cause I have heard how fickle pine can be, but overall Im happy how it turned out. It is amazing how you can turn a couple of planks into a finished piece of furniture. Took me about 2 1/2 month is put it all together. Glad I got some confidence under my belt to try more sophisticated projects.

Looks OK to me. As always, live and learn. I’m sure it’ll get better and better with more projects.

that really good for a first project, (its good even as a second or third actually). Next time you have gaps, mix a little sawdust and glue and fill them, it will blend them in nicely.

Looks great for a “first.” In addition to the saw dust and glue, I actually had to shave some scrap left over pieces to get a wedge shape that fit into the dovetail gaps… actually, they blended in fine and you wouldn’t notice unless you were actually looking for them.

I suspect your wood was not perfectly flat and uniform if you were using all hand tools… turned out great.
