Here is my A&C style queen size bed made out of quarter sawn white oak using a design by American Furniture Design Co. All the details are in my blog pages if you want to know more about the finish or building process. The blue prints were really good and it was a fun project to build. Next is two matching night stands and dresser. Cheers

Dan,
I did a lot of research on A&C beds before I build this one and I would recommend that you take a look at the one from American Furniture Design Co. Its was a whole bunch of fun to build and I could have completed it in a week if it hadnt been for being so busy. Thanks for taking a look and if you need to ask questions when you go to build yours email me.

Todd, hope you realize you’re making life very hard for some of us. My wife keeps hinting that she’d love to have an A&C bed identical to this. In all seriousness, you’ve done a great job, it looks fantastic and I have to admit that I’m jealous. Thanks for sharing (and, maybe if I’m lucky my wife won’t discover this post).

Max,
Your right about the wood it is simply beautiful. I have a great wood supplier who retired in the fall and I bought $3,000.00 worth of quarter saw white oak off of him (all that he had left) just because of the quality. He called me two weeks ago and let me know that he didn’t like retirement and is back in business so I don’t have to search for a new supplier.
I am always scared that I won’t do Mother Nature the justice she deserves when I’m working with wood this beautiful. She sure knows what she’s doing doesn’t she!

beautiful job,, I love A&C style almost as much as I love QSWO. Wondering how much b.f. lumber this project requires so I can tally up costs to build my own, thanks!

Favorited,Watched and buddied! Need I say more?

Okay then I will, Your finish looks flawless and the oak stands on its own because of that.

Looking forward to the nightstands and dresser!

BTW… you shorted us all one photo, you’re allowed six! ;)

Thanks everyone and again. I sure am glad knowing that I did Mother Nature the justice she deserves. The wood is the star of this project and I know that those ray flecks just jump off the boards at you. Cheers and God bless all of you for the kind words.

T.D.
I did not see any real specifics in your blog regarding the finishing. Did I miss something? I about wrapping up a bed I’m building and I’m in the process of deciding on a finish. Yours looks like a possible candidate, any details?

Thanks,
Phil
