First Cabinet

This is my first cabinet! It was quite challenging and very much a learning experience. After a lot of do and re-do, I finally finished it. I used paduk for the top and birch plywood for the case with popal. It has a spice rack on one side with 4 shelves and 2 pull out shelfs and a pull out drawer.

The paduk was a lot more dense than I thought and sanding was quite messy! I put 6 coats of clear wet sanding in between. It still needs a couple more coats but it’s really quit a beautiful piece of wood.

Thanks for looking
Pat and Judy

Keep at it.
Cabinets are a lot harder than people think. In reality they are just a box. When you add a drawer, its a box in a box. But getting it build perfectly square (or close to it) are the hardest parts.
Having the right jigs, the right tools and most importantly, a saw with a perfecty aligned fence and miter slots are key.
Nice job.
