This table is a two to three person Cafe Table, designed to accommodate 30 inch bar stools. The table top is 35” by 25” and made of alligator juniper. The base is a really unique piece of manzanita which I (for lack of a better word) “mined” out of the earth with its complete root ball intact. It is pretty large for manzanita, but the Tonto National Forest in Arizona is known to produce some real monsters.

A little wood trivia to go with this project:

Manzanita is a spanish word which literally translates to “little apple” as this shrub species does produce edible berries.
There are over 100 different species of manzanita in the world that range from high altitude shrubs to 20 foot costal trees.
Some manzanita species are among the rarest plants in the world, such as Presidio manzanita, which is the most endangered and restricted plant in the mainland United States today.

VERY nice

It just grows out of the floor.
