If you have been following the story you will know that the deal was I could have a wood shop only if it was used to build a replacement garage and studio. (you are all familiar with that sort of conversation I am sure)

Anyway the deal was done. We didn’t do the concrete base or the metal roof finish. But all the rest. You can see Mrs C nailing some of the panels together.

The frame is softwood with metal corner braces which means there need be no internal walls. The cladding is cedar shingle on three sides and fire resistant ply to the party wall. Doors and windows are cedar. Not a choice I would go with again as it is difficult to work with. Looks good and is pretty stable but a pig if you are relying in glue.

Inside there is the garage and in the studio a storage wall with a fold down guest bed.

It hasn’t blown over in the gales that we have had over the last 10 years since it was built and I now have a workshop for other projects.

That’s what I call a deal

Looks like you thought it through before building. The cantalevered overhang should have been on my shop to do list. Hmmmmm Ceder! :-0
