This is a Handcrafted Cedar chest. I didn’t make it myself however, it was made by my Grandfather. Unfortunately he is no longer with us but I thought I would show you a piece of his work that has inspired me to become a woodworker. He took this Cedar from his backyard and milled up the lumber to produce this chest. The pattern is the Norwegian Rosemaling. I was going to show the inside but my wife has it filled to the rim. Every side, minus the bottom has been carved. Thanks for looking and one day I will post one of my own! Also if you go to my site, you will notice that I used this chest for my logo.

I think your Grandfather did a beautiful job. How cool that you are able to keep it as a treasure and then pass it on down the line. Thank you for sharing!
Very Respectfully,
Nate

Your grandpa was a very talented individual. I’m amazed at what great shape that chest is in. Someone has taken very good care of it over the years.

True Craftsmanship, what a beautiful piece with great memories attached to boot. Imagine the time he spent truly a work of love. Was it made for Grandma? Don

Yes Gpops ( Don), He made this particular for Grandma. You’re right about memories, everytime I look I can I can picture his steady hands carving it.
