This is another piece that I built a few years back. It was a gift to my wife who needed a bedside table. I made it a little larger than your average bedside stand as she usually has a lot of books and magazines by the bed. All visible parts are cherry. I used beech for the drawer. The design is Shaker inspired with simple lines but built solidly with sliding dovetails connecting the back and sides to the legs and dovetails connecting the front top and bottom rails to the legs. The finish is equal parts varnish, turpentine, and boiled linseed oil. I used a coat of paste wax to finish it off.
