first scrollsaw project(candle latern)

this was a mothers day gift for my mother-n-law .made out of aromatic cedar.it is approx. 4 5/8 wide and 7” tall with alternating patterns i finshed it with 3 coats of spray lacquer and 2 coats of wax(candle is battery operated).the cedar came from a cedar tree i cut down out of their yard.they had it milled and suprised me for chirstmas it was about 250 to 300 bf.

I would say if that is your first scroll sawed project Jeff, you did very well. Did you stack cut the sides?
That will be a very useful gift.

thanks for the comments hawaiilad i did stack the sides.jayhaypur the aroma is nice even with the lacquer you can smell through where i cut the pattern

Thats really nice scroll work and I dont think you could have picked a better wood than cedar for this.

-- Martin ....always count the number of fingers you have before, and after using the saw.
