My sister Karen has a good sized flower garden. Many years ago, she bought a miniature lifeguard tower for her garden. She puts a doll on the tower to watch over her garden.

After many years, Mother Nature took her toll on the tower. Rather than replace it, I decided to build a new one.

I entered the tower design into Google Sketchup:

Except for a couple of pieces that are 2.5×0.5 wood, the whole tower can be made of 2×0.5 wood. I elected to use pressure treated lumber so it would last longer in the elements. It uses a 4 degree angle on all 4 sides.

I delivered the new tower to her garden today, and she was very happy!

For more details on how I built this tower, see my web site.
