This is an antique oak table my dad gave me to refinish. He got it in Iowa and brought to Florida for me. This is my first refinishing project and my first major woodworking project solo. Someone had stained it dark then painted it white so it took some work to get down to the bare wood. The paint was all scrapped off with a regular paint scrapper then the stain was all hand sanded out. I finished it with Minwax English Chestnut stain and a few coats of poly. The whole thing is just held together with 4 screws in the botton shelf. The top of the legs have dovetails that slide into the top. Its very unique. I really like the look of the top. I believe it is quatersawn but I could be mistaken. Overall I really like the table and I’m really happy how it came out, espically for being my first big project. Right now it makes a great nightstand.
