Just a fun project. This was a collaborative effort between my wife and I for the street party she’s organizing on 4th June to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. She Photoshopped the image merging the legs from one photo onto another photo of the rest of the body. Then she had the whole image enlarged to be bigger than lifesize. We then stuck it onto 3mm MDF and I carefully jigsawed it out removing any blurred edges from the enlarging process, but leaving the highlights where the sun bounces off. It will be fixed to a stand on the day.

I just couldn’t resist adding the captions below to the photos.

Thanks for looking!

Sorry, my last post may have insulted the Queen.

God bless the Queen.

Mads – Thanks. Glad your finding some time to keep up with LJs. Hope life is good. Any luck finding a workshop space yet? By the way, you should check out my last project. You’d like that one.

David – I think she’d had a couple of cheeky sherries before she popped round to see me. :-)

Dennis – The Queen was standing in the kitchen while I was packing my tools away. When I came back in, she scared the life out of me.

Eric, Scot, Don – Thanks. I’ll pass on your best wishes.

Pretty funny Andy. The only issue I can see is…she is taller than you, that aint right! You have a lot of effort into this celebration. It should be a great day.

Shane – Everyone in the neighbourhood is really fired up about it now. I just hope the weather is good on the day.
