I feel silly for not thinking of using a BIC pen as a donor pen. I have been wanting to get started in pen making but didn’t want to buy a bunch of expensive parts for the first few pens. Thanks for sharing the great idea.

@bill4123: they’re nice little projects. I buy a bag of 10 Bic pens at KMart for $1.49…so it’s very cheap. I don’t even have a long drill bit so I just use a chisel to cut the ink tube to fit the hole I drilled. They still last a very long time. Cap’n Eddie made a great video on this (though my process is different):
