What is it? Is it lockers? A loft? A Murphy bed? It is all three. This is a loft bed with an added murphy bed on the lower section. It is based off my baseball loft murphy bed. It is similar in the design I just changed the theme and overall look.
The inspiration came from Pottery Barns Vintage lockers. We wanted that beach/weathered look. I used a glazing technique to give the paint that old antique look. I started with a white undercoater and glazed it with a brown stain.
Some other features that I added was the handles on the end ladders and the guardrail. The guardrail is a rope design backed with netting.
The murphy bed is a full size horizontal. When folded up it take us the room of a twin bunk and allows a little more play room under the bed.
