My Second Bowl

This is the 2nd bowl I have ever turned. It is cherry. Getting better !!!!

Nice job Nancy. However your bowl appears to be Oak. I can tell you it is definately not Cherry.

Looks nice, for only your second bowl that’s great. I beleive terry is correct, the grain pattern and the wood pores would lead me to believe that its Oak. Whatever wood species it came out great.

Looks good but definitely not Cherry. It is oak of which there are a lot of different varieties.
If you eventually turn a piece of Cherry you will see the difference because cherry is easier to turn.

Nancy that looks great too. got a lath i picked up at a auction and havent got to learning it yet but as murch said i,ll probably be looking for a WTA meeting when i do and doing the twelve steps :)
